Why WebBall recommends Rogers: Not all makes advertised as safety bases do the job. The release point depends on the size and weight of the players. Most magnetic systems just don't have the versions available for different age groups. The result are bases that break away too often - or the real danger - don't break away when they should. We also know of serious leg injuries caused by contact with unyielding magnetic base plates (happened on a field we play on). We believe that the engineering put into the Rogers Breakaway system makes it perform better under typical game and practice conditions. - Richard Todd, WebBall

Could be the most important safety equipment of all

Everyone who's anyone has come out in support of safety bases, with no endorsement stronger than for Rogers patented Break Away® bases. According to the experts, the use of safety bases in recreational baseball games could prevent 1.7 million injuries that cost the U.S. about $2 billion a year in heath care expenses.

Little League has mandated safety base use by April 2008. This has put tremendous demand on the recommended Rogers BreakAway Bases. WebBall is committed to the best possible customer service and delivery, but you're advised to order as early as possible.

Pitcher training can happen anytime, any place

It's easy to see why Porto-Lite has become the choice of so many clubs and baseball associations. The 2-section overlapping interlock design improves portablility and makes it easier to store.

Two models of the pro-size are available with a choice of surfaces, plus there are more economical Youth models.

This product addresses a pet peeve of ours when we travel to various ball parks - mounds that look like pimples, mounds that look like volcanoes, and mounds that look like vast table-top mesas. Though some of these ballparks look like no one has ever cracked open a rule book, there is in fact a correct mound profile - and now a tool to make building it easier... no more excuses. - Richard Todd, WebBall

Yes, there is a regulation mound profile

The Mound Builder takes the guess work out of mound construction and renovation. In just 8 simple steps your mound will meet all regulations. Features all steel construction, a sliding cross bar, pointed rods for proper height and radius points for the rubber, mound and turf edge. Available for both Official Big League and youth league profiles.

Nothing is more unnerving than being responsible for other people's kids on an open field when a storm starts building in the distance. We've been there. But what we didn't realize is thunder is almost always inaudible beyond 4 miles - meaning you don't always know when lightning is a risk. So you stand out there as a coach - and probably a parent, too - and you look at the high metal backstop and the open field and what... guess? Well, lightning injures or kills over 6000 people every year. So here's a better idea.

Please don't become a statistic

SkyScan Lightning Detector is a sophisticated hand-held (or wall mounted) instrument which detects lightning as far as 40 miles away and ranges its approach, telling you if a storm is moving towards, away, or parallel to your position. Audible warning tone alerts you when lightning approaches. LED distance indicators tell you how far away the storm is. Powered by two 9V batteries.
